There seems to be a large she-cat following me around, speaking to me.

[A quick sweep around the apartment shows nothing out of the ordinary, and then a loud yowl is heard.]

Well, princess, you decided to explore the bathroom.

[A few seconds later, a very wet and very unhappy ocelot stomps out of the bathroom, shaking water from its paws. Then the camera refocuses on Alec's face.]

A curse, I suppose. We can't leave each others' presences.

Ah well. At least she's stunningly attractive, as far as animals go.

[Action it is, then. Lyra's hands are clenched into fists as she runs toward the fountain. Losing Pantalaimon had been bad enough- but that man's words! She scanned the people near the fountain, looking for whoever was accompanied by a creature in cat-form, her expression a deep scowl.]

[Alec actually is where he says he is, for once -- sitting on a bench by the fountain with Hortencia curled up around his feet. Some experimentation had shown that they can be apart, but it's better when they're touching. So he's just out here to enjoy the sun and see if Lyra actually shows up.

Little girls are so cute.]

[Lyra spots him, and the scowl turns into a snarl. She has enough presence of mind not to start shouting curses at him, instead slowly sneaking closer.

And then lunges, aiming a punch at his face.]

[That didn't take long. With all the grace of a gangly adolescent, Alec goes down, his long limbs flailing. Hortensia snarls and leaps back, her back arching, but Lyra hasn't got a daemon for her to fight at the moment.

After a moment he recovers his senses and remembers some of what Richard taught him, so he tries to lever the girl off.]

[Lyra ignores the daemon- she knows the cat's not going to attack her, after all. She forces her knee into his stomach, and her face at this moment isn't at all cute.

When he tries to lever her off, she tries to grab one of his arms with both of her hands.]

[Alec grunts when she knees him in the stomach and curls up in a defensive hunch. He never was very good at grappling.

At least he's got longer arms than her. He flails them around, in an attempt to push her back.]

[Unfortunately, he's bigger than her- she tries to grab one of his arms as tightly as she can- rollng off of his stomach and then biting down on said arm. Hard.]

[He's on his feet the moment she's off him, but -- OW. Lets out a yowl.]

You little brat! What did I ever do to you?

[Cue more flailing, as he tries to shake her off.]

[He just shrieks louder and grabs at anything he can. Including hair.]

[And Lyra just grits her teeth and digs in harder. She's getting frustrated, and she tries to send a knee towards his groin.]

[When THAT blow connects, he howls and renews his flailing efforts. The idea is to send her sailing across the square; maybe into the fountain. Also to curl up in a little ball and whimper as soon as possible. It's on his to-do list.]

[Well, she doesn't fly that far, but she does get knocked back. And then tries to come charging right back.]

[At least this time he's prepared for her. Tries to catch her by her shoulders and hold her back at arm's length, because his arms are so much longer.]
