Yesterday's curse was so inspiring that I just felt I had to offer my own -- well, I think it's art. But I suppose you'll have to judge for yourselves. I'm sure you'll scorn me. You always do.
I give you, dear City...
An Ode To Cain Hargreaves.
Presented in Villanelle
And so becomes our good friend Cain:
this tale's of he, of might and steel --
when all's been told, a royal pain.
Tho' he (it's said) is never vain
there's little doubt he flaunts and preens
as well becomes our good friend Cain.
And well he should, one without shame.
A peerless peer, if well you will.
When all's been told, he's quite a pain.
Yet never would he fib, nor fain
to frolic. An iron spine (braced by
a broomstick) has our good friend Cain.
Still, to us lowly proles he'll deign
to speak, advise or nose about
where he's unwanted. S'truth, a pain.
So o're us all may long he reign
(though like the oxen, he is lame)
a haughty, stuffy, grumpy pain
is he, Hargreaves, our dear friend Cain.
That was quite enjoyable, actually. Who shall I honor next? Luke? Anita, I'm afraid your name provides simply too few rhyming opportunities.

The trick is to pick your rhymes, write the poem, and then pare down syllables *nod*
._.v Alas, my fail. I actually have a hard time rhyming.
I suck. But "Cain" was easy. uhm... Thanks?

Besides, I don't know where you'd find the time between posting to the network as you do.

I wonder what it is you do in your long silences on the Network. Perhaps I ought to start following you about.
